I met Larry at my first Burn in 1991 and subsequently I got to know him fairly well. For a few years, early in the current millennium, I used to have a rainbow “afro” style clown wig that I always wore at BRC, at Decompression, and other Burner events. I guess Larry had gotten used to always seeing me in that same old dusty wig, but I mislaid it at PreCom one year. The next time I bumped into Larry he seemed truly surprised to see me not wearing my trademark wig. Jokingly, he asked if I had just recently gotten a haircut.
